Kirkin’ o’ the Tartans

It’s Pastor Doug’s 1st day back from sabbatical!

Sunday, September 20 at 10:30 a.m.

As part of our morning worship we will be celebrating a Kirkin’ O’ the Tartans with a full Pipe and Drum band! This service includes a blessing of the tartans, or clans and will serve as a reminder and celebration of our Scottish Presbyterian roots. However, it is my desire to celebrate all of our “roots” – families, clans, tribes or nations.

As I am sure you may have guessed, I will be wearing a kilt on that day and I would invite any who have a kilt, skirt, tie, sash or other tartan to wear it. Also, if you come representing some other tribe or nation and have any traditional clothing or item representing that culture, you would be welcome to wear/bring it as well.

We hope to have all of the families, clans, tribes and nations represented on that day, as well as the names of those representing them, listed in the bulletin so that we can bless them all! So, please send in that information as soon as possible so that we don’t miss anyone.

We hope for this to be a fun and celebratory time of worship as we give thanks for all that God has done throughout all generations and asking his blessing on all of us as we move into his future!
